The bust went down after members of the narcotics unit approached the three men, Kevin Tobar-Castillo, 21; Johan Cifuentes, 30, and Christopher Torres, 21, all of Stamford, in the vehicle and noticed two large bags of marijuana on the floorboard of the vehicle, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
The bag contained about 2.2 pounds of pot, he added.
A further search turned more than 11 pounds of additional pot, and two counterfeit $100 bills in Torres pocket, a large cardboard box that was used for shipping the drugs, and an additional $440 in cash, Conklin said.
Tobar-Catillo and Cifuentes had previously been busted by the unit for possession of drugs and trafficking, he said.
They were under orders from the court not to have contact with each other from the previous arrests.
All three were charged with numerous drug charges including possession, possession with intent to sell, conspiracy, and a criminal violation for violating the court order. Torres was also charged with forgery for the counterfeit money.
Tobar-Catillo and Cifuentes were held on $75,000 bail. Torres was held on $50,000 bail.
